Dr Kirthi Koka received her medical graduate degree from Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai in 2009, and her post-graduate degree in MS Ophthalmology from Stanley Medical College in Chennai in 2013.
In 2016, she finished her long-term clinical fellowship in orbit and oculoplasty at the Medical Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya.
Since 2016, she has served as an Associate Consultant in the department of Orbit, Oculoplasty, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Services at Sankara Nethralaya in Chennai. She has a number of papers published in national and international journals, and she has given a number of talks at national and international conferences.
In 2016, Dr Kirthi Koka received the award for the best outgoing fellow, and she has also received awards for numerous presentations. She is now in charge of the fellowship training program for oculoplasty.
She is particularly interested in Orbital Oncology and has completed a short-term observership with Dr. Bita Esmaeli at the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She also shadowed Dr. Bhupendra C.K Patel at the Moran Eye Center in Utah and Dr. Suzanne Freitag at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston.
