Dr Rajesh Ahlawat has more than 39 years of experience in the area of Minimally Invasive Urology and Renal Transplantation. At Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, Fortis Hospitals in New Delhi, and Medanta – The Medicity in Gurugram, he is credited with developing high-volume Urology and Renal Transplant programs.
Dr. Ahlawat, an experienced endourologist, laparoscopic, and robotic surgeon, was the first to perform a Robotic Kidney Transplant (RKT) with regional hypothermia in the world. Dr. Ahlawat, a teacher and academic at heart, developed Urology training M.Ch. and D.N.B. programs at all of his previous institutions.
In 1992, he received the Chakraborty Fellowship from the Indian American Urological Association, and in 1995, he received the PN Berry Fellowship. During his time at the Institute of Urology and Nephrology, he was awarded the title of Honorary Lecturer by the University College London Hospitals (UCLH) in the United Kingdom in 1995.
