- Dr Quek Hong Hui Richard is a surgical oncologist in Singapore, where he practices at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals and Gleneagles Hospital.
His areas of expertise include sarcomas, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), melanomas, and lymphomas.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in internal medicine from the National University of Singapore in 1997 and completed his residency in medical oncology at the Singapore General Hospital and National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS). - Dr Quek Hong Hui Richard was awarded the HMDP fellowship in 2008 to pursue advanced training and study in the area of soft tissue and bone sarcoma at the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center in Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America. Additionally, in 2009, he was awarded a National Medical Research Council fellowship to continue his research in the United States of America.
Dr Quek previously served as deputy head of the NCCS’s division of medical oncology from 2013 to 2018. He also served as the program director of SingHealth’s SingHealth Medical Oncology Senior Residency Program during this period. He has won several honors, including the 2004 and 2005 Service Excellence Awards and the 2013 and 2015 SingHealth Outstanding Educator Awards.
In 2013, he co-founded the Singapore Sarcoma Consortium and serves as co-chair of the annual Singapore Sarcoma Symposium.
Dr Quek also founded and continues to lead the Asian Sarcoma Consortium (ASC), whose primary objective is to advance sarcoma research and education in Asia.
He has over 70 publications in peer-reviewed journals and continues to be an active participant in science and education.
