Experience
- Dr Lim Hong Liang previously served as the director of the National University Hospital’s Thoracic Oncology Service, Head and Neck Service, and Bone Marrow Transplant Program. He was the Chief of the Haematology and Oncology Departments there from 2000 to 2005.
When he left for private practice at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, he was also the Associate Chairman of the Medical Board of NUH. Dr Lim earned a bachelor’s degree in 1986 from the National University of Singapore.
At NUH, he received training in internal medicine and medical oncology. In 1992, he was awarded a Japan JICA scholarship to continue his education at the Tokyo National Cancer Centre’s Department of Thoracic Oncology. - Dr Lim has received training in high-dose chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, thanks to a Ministry of Health scholarship.
