Biodata
- Dr Professor Pua Uei specializes in minimally invasive, image-guided disease care. Following his induction as a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (United Kingdom) in 2006 and the Singapore Academy of Medicine in 2008,
- Dr Professor Pua Uei then completed a fellowship in interventional radiology at the University of Toronto’s University Health Network & Mount Sinai Hospital in Canada, followed by a visiting fellowship at New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC).
- Since 2012, he has served as President of the Singapore Radiological Society and on many international committees, including the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), and the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS).
- His research interests include musculoskeletal intervention, interventional oncology, and vascular intervention. In 2012, he patented the procedure of “central stentoplasty” for the treatment of osteoporotic fractures and was profiled in the news media for developing several other procedures, including percutaneous cryoablation for renal cell carcinoma and percutaneous endovascular stent graft implantation for aortic aneurysm. He is also a researcher, having authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications.
