Biodata
- Dr Teo Yee Hong earned his medical degree from the National University of Ireland in 1998 with numerous honors and distinctions. He returned to Singapore and began his post-graduate orthopaedic study. In addition to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, he received his training at the National University Hospital (NUH) and the Singapore General Hospital (SGH).
- Dr Teo Yee Hong was awarded a Ministry of Health scholarship for the Higher Manpower Development Program (HMDP) and went on to pursue a clinical residency in Joint Replacement Surgery in Melbourne, Australia. His training concentrated on revision hip and knee replacement surgery, as well as the use of Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS) in hip and knee replacement. CAOS improved the reliability of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and the reproducibility of implant alignment, resulting in increased implant lifetime and clinical success.
- Apart from his clinical practice, Dr Teo is an appointed clinical professor at the National University of Singapore and a Core Faculty Member of the future residency program. In 2003, he received the renowned National Institutes of Health Young Doctor Award for his work in stem cell treatment. He has presented at regional and international gatherings and written in regional and international peer-reviewed journals.
- Dr Teo was born and raised in Singapore and is proficient in English and Mandarin, as well as conversant in Hokkien, Teochew, and Cantonese.
