DR ABHAY NENE, a Jaihind College alumnus, graduated in 1989 and went on to T N Medical College, where he received his medical degree and later finished his postgraduate training in Orthopedic Surgery. He currently practices as a Spine Surgeon attached to various hospitals in Bombay after many more years of study in the subspecialty of Spine Surgery. He has numerous international papers and is actively involved in research as well as training future spine surgeons through fellowships. He is a dedicated academic and currently serves as the National Chairman of the AO Spine India group.
Dr. Nene is also a regular half marathon runner, having completed 20 half marathons around the world, and an avid cyclist, having cycled some of the world’s most difficult routes, including Manali to Leh, the Tour of the Nilgiris, and most recently a 60-hour nonstop relay cycle ride from New Delhi to Bombay, raising 1.7 million rupees for cancer children. He’s a seasoned hiker who’s conquered the Everest Base Camp and a slew of other… Abhay works as a back up vocalist and guitarist for a rock band called the Flunkies.
