- Dr Teo Yee Sze is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with a major focus in adult reconstructive and trauma surgery. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the National University of Singapore in 1999. He continued his education with a fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery and was enrolled to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2002. In 2003, he graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery. His postgraduate training resulted in his admission as an orthopaedic surgeon fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2007. In the same year, he was registered with the Singapore Medical Council as a specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery.
- Dr Teo Yee Sze’s interest in adult reconstructive and trauma surgery remained unabated. In 2008, he was awarded a Singhealth Health Manpower Development Fund (HMDP) Scholarship to train at the internationally renowned Rorabeck Bourne Joint Replacement Clinic at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada. During his fellowship year, he was trained by eminent orthopaedic surgeons Professors CH Rorebeck, RB Bourne, and SJ McDonald and performed multiple highly complex primary and revision arthroplasty surgeries.
- Dr Teo Yee Sze is currently employed at Changi General Hospital as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. He was instrumental in establishing and growing the hospital’s adult reconstructive section and has vast expertise performing sophisticated primary and revision arthroplasty surgery in the department.
- Dr Teo is an avid researcher. He has received various research funding and has also produced numerous peer-reviewed scholarly articles. Additionally, he has served as main and co-investigator in various multicenter trials, most notably in the field of adult reconstructive surgery.
- Dr Teo devotes time to teaching medical students and post-graduate trainees in addition to conducting research. He began his career as a clinical instructor at the National University of Singapore’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2003 and was later promoted Adjunct Assistant Professor in 2010, where he was responsible for medical student teaching in the Changi General Hospital’s Orthopaedic Department.
