- Dr Lee Guek Eng earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore, after a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Cell and Molecular Biology. She completed her specialist training in medical oncology in 2013 and began practicing at Singapore’s National Cancer Centre. Dr Lee specializes in breast cancer, with a particular emphasis on young women diagnosed with the disease and research. In 2016, she was awarded an international fellowship by the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) to train as a fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where she will focus on young women with breast cancer and pregnancy-associated breast cancer.
- Dr Lee Guek Eng has a strong research interest and has been involved in a variety of Singapore projects, including determining the barriers to trial participation for Asian populations and young breast cancer survivors. She was instrumental in establishing a national program for young women diagnosed with breast cancer in order to raise awareness and educate them. She was also received a second grant by the National Medical Study Council (NMRC) through the Industry Alignment Fund (IAF) for her research on a new chemical for the treatment of brain metastases in advanced breast cancer patients. She has represented Singapore at various international oncology conferences and has given numerous presentations of her research over the last eight years.
