Biodata
- Dr Yeap Heng Oon Shang graduated from The University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree and was granted the Faculty of Science International Merit Scholarship for his academic success. Additionally, he was inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society for his academic achievements.
- Dr Shang Yeap Heng Oon did a fellowship in medical oncology at Sydney’s Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre. He then pursued a fellowship in clinical research at the Sydney West Clinical Trials Centre to develop his interest in cancer care. He conducted numerous clinical trials at that time period for breast cancer, urogenital cancer, new cancer medicines, and pharmacogenomics.
- Dr Shang Yeap Heng Oon has since presented his study findings at a number of international conferences and has also published them in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
- From 2011 until 2015, Dr Yeap served as a consultant in medical oncology at Johns Hopkins Singapore and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He oversaw the Tan Tock Seng oncology clinic, was actively involved in research, and served as the main investigator of numerous clinical trials for cancer patients. He is an honorary fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Singapore Academy of Medicine. He was a former member of the American Society of Oncology and the Australian Clinical Oncology Society.
- Dr Shang Yeap Heng Oon has been practicing medical oncology for almost a decade.
