- Ophthalmologist, Senior Consultant, Director of Uveitis, Ocular Inflammation, and Immunology Services
LASIK, Presbyopia Treatment and Refractive Surgery, Cataract Surgery, and Myopia Control - Dr Lim Wee Kiak is the Eagle Eye Centre’s founder and group Chief Executive Officer. He graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with an MBBS in 1992 and began his postgraduate training in Ophthalmology in 1995, earning a Master’s degree from NUS (MMED) in 1998, as well as two specialist postgraduate qualifications in Ophthalmology from the United Kingdom (FRCS Edinburgh and FRCOphth London). In 2003, he completed a one-year fellowship in uveitis and ocular inflammation at the National Eye Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA.
- Dr Lim Wee Kiak previously worked at the Singapore National Eye Centre as a consultant and subspecialist in ocular inflammation and immunology (SNEC). He is an expert in ocular inflammation, immunology, and uveitis, having produced 26 peer-reviewed scientific publications and nine book chapters. Additionally, he is a member of the International Uveitis Study Group, the International Ocular Inflammation Society, and the American Uveitis Society (AUS). He is an advisor to the Singapore Opticianry Practitioners and chairman of the Ngee Ann Polytechnic School of Optometry’s advisory council.
- From 2007 to 2010, Dr Lim served as the Deputy Director of the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute and as the director of uveitis, ocular immunology, and inflammation at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is a visiting consultant at SNEC and Tan Tock Seng Hospital and a member of the medical board of Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital.
- Since 2003, Dr Lim Wee Kiak has been an accredited LASIK eye surgeon, doing hundreds of eye procedures, including difficult cataract surgeries. He is actively involved in teaching and training future eye surgeons at SNEC and Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and has been invited to serve as an examiner for a variety of eye tests.
