DR RAJAS DESHPANDE has over 20 years of expertise and has seen over one lakh patients from over 26 countries around the world. In 2002, he received first place in the post-doctoral D.M. Neurology exams at Mumbai University and spent two years as a Neurologist at the S.G.S. Medical College / K.E.M. Hospital in Mumbai. He then pursued fellowships in Multiple Sclerosis, Demyelinating Disorders, and Movement Disorders at the famous University of Western Ontario. He also spent two years at the London Health Sciences Center in Ontario, California, working in advanced neurosciences and neuro-ophthalmology sections.
As a treating or examining Neurologist, he took part in 15 worldwide clinical and research trials. In Elsevier’s textbook “Neurology and Clinical Neurosciences,” he contributed a chapter titled “Clinical Spectrum: Demyelinating Diseases” (2007). He was the first Indian Neurologist to write a chapter for LWW Publishing’s “Advances in Neurology: Multiple Sclerosis” (2006).
Multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders, stroke, complicated neurology cases, and dementias are among his main interests. Aside from Neurology, he is interested in thinking analysis, digital technologies, education, music, and writing. He writes to promote doctor-patient communication, doctor rights, and to protect medical professionals from unfair slander. Partridge recently published his book THE DOCTOR GENE.
DR RAJAS DESHPANDE participates in medical (neurology) and medicolegal, medical social training, and seeks to improve the doctor-patient interaction through social media and lecture series. As a chief guest, he has also attended numerous convocation ceremonies in medical and paramedical institutes to mentor the next generation of doctors and paramedics. He was also invited as one of the experts by the NOTTO under the GOI to develop criteria for brainstem death in the context of organ transplantation.
