DR RAJIV C SHAH Born in 1954, he received his medical degree (MBBS) from Bombay University in 1977 and his master’s degree in general surgery from Bombay University in 1981. Since 1982, I’ve worked as a GI surgeon and oncologist, accumulating thirty years of expertise. Initial oncology training at India’s largest comprehensive cancer center, Tata Memorial Hospital. Gastrointestinal Oncology is an area of interest. Along with Dr. P. Jagannath, he has captured surgical expertise in educational videos that are popular among Indian surgeons.
In 1993 and 1998, DR RAJIV C SHAH was an International Fellow at the Cleveland Foundation Clinic with Prof.MechaelHenderson. Prof. Makucchi and Prof. Ken Takasaki from Japan, as well as Prof. Nimura from Tokyo and Nagoya, provided advanced training in hepatic surgery and intra-operative sonography. Attended the Charite Campus University in Berlin’s summer course for neruroendocrine, gastrointestinal, and hepatological illnesses. At the World Congress of the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, as well as regional and national conferences, I chaired and delivered papers, films, and posters.
A founding member of the Indian Chapter of the IHPBA, he was a member of the planning committee for the Chapter’s highly successful First National Conference and Workshop in 2001, which featured live demonstrations of hepatic surgery by international faculty and over 500 delegates from various countries. In 2008, I was a member of the organizing committee for the IHPBA’s 8th World Congress in Mumbai. India Society of Gastroenterology, Indian Society of Oncology, Indian Association of Liver Study, and India Association of Surgical Gastroenterology are all life members.
