Dr Chin Chao-Wu David is a medical specialist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Parkway East Hospital.
He is board certified by the American Board of Rhinology and Endoscopic Sinus Surgery.
Dr Chin Chao-Wu David has a deep interest in the treatment of nasal polyps and the effect of this polyps on the upper and lower airways. He believes that the nasal airway is critical and championing of nasal airway surgery.
Dr Chin Chao-Wu David received a fellowship training in advanced rhinology in an approved program provided by the American Rhinologic Society. Under the tutelage of rhinologists Professor Richard Harvey and Professor Ray Sacks, in addition to rhinologist Dr George Marcells, Dr Chin was able to study advanced nasal surgery techniques such as functional endoscopic sinus surgery, endoscopic skull base surgery and nasal airway surgery.
He was previously a director at the rhinology service at Changi General Hospital and a specialist at Tan Tock Seng Hospital . (TTSH). He continues to lecture at the National University of Singapore and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
In addition to his previous positions as a clinical senior lecturer at the National University of Singapore and as a clinical senior lecturer at SingHealth ENT’s postgraduate medical examination programme, Dr Chin continues to serve as a standard setting committee member for otorhinolaryngology postgraduate medical examination. He also holds this position in the specialty of Otorhinolaryngology.
Dr. Chin has been involved in local and regionally-wide teaching endeavors. These courses offered in Singapore at Changi General Hospital, Singapore General Hospital, National University Hospital, National Healthcare Group, Khon Kaen University and International Islamic University of Malaysia.
In 2016, he had the distinction of representing the Society of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery Singapore (SOHNSS) at the Global Otolaryngology Forum held in San Francisco, CA, USA .
He has over 20 published articles, covering a range of topics ranging from nasal polyps to a novel method for endoscopic drillout of the frontal sinus. For his studies, Dr. Cohen received the Yahya Cohen Memorial Lectureship in 2013 from the Academy of Medicine in Singapore. He is an expert reviewer in the field of obstetrics, rhinology, and allergy.
Dr Chin Chao-Wu David firmly believes that Singapore can be a means towards training in some specialties in a specific field. In order to achieve this goal, he continues to engage in collaborative initiatives in China and Myanmar . (Mandalay and Yangon, 2016).
