Psychiatrist and neuroscientist Dr Wilke is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA. His study focuses on the anatomy and function of brain networks implicated in neuropsychiatric diseases. Dr Wilke obtained a Bachelor of Science in neurobiology from the University of Washington and a Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy in neuroscience from the Medical Scientist Training Program at UC San Diego. He studied activity-dependent processes governing the construction of hippocampal circuits in the developing brain for his dissertation with Dr Anirvan Ghosh. He then completed a residency in adult psychiatry and postdoctoral research with Dr Vikaas Sohal at UC San Francisco. The Wilke laboratory investigates the prefrontal cortex using molecular genetic techniques to watch and modify brain activity during behavior. His ultimate goal is to comprehend the genesis and resolution of depressive moods at the level of certain brain circuits.
Dr Scott has ties to many local institutions, including UCLA Medical Center and UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center. He has been in profession for eleven to twenty years.
