Associate Professor Albert Chang serves as Vice Chair of Surgical Services and Brachytherapy Service Chief for the Department of Radiation Oncology at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr Chang got his MD and PhD in Molecular Medicine from Boston University’s School of Medicine. After completing his residency at the Washington University School of Medicine, he became an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco.
His clinical specialty is on genitourinary and gynecological cancers, and he is an expert in high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy. HDR brachytherapy is a very successful method for the conformal delivery of high, ablative doses of radiation directly into malignancies. This kind of therapy needs talent and experience. Dr Chang has completed over one thousand five hundred brachytherapy operations.
