Dr Lim Choon Pin is specialized in the operation and care of ventricular aid systems for advanced heart failure patients, as well as patients with conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart valve disease and heart rhythm disease.
Advanced cardiac failure, heart transplantation, artificial circulatory support systems and advanced echocardiography are his topics and research priorities (including transoesophageal echocardiography).
In 2013, under the Ministry of Health’s Human Manpower Development Programme scholarship, he completed his clinical fellowship in advanced heart failure at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, Australia. He was also certified by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging in 2013 for Adult Transthoracic and Transoesophageal Echocardiography.
Dr Lim Choon Pin worked as a full-time consultant cardiologist from 2012-2018 prior to entering private practice. He is also currently a visiting consultant at Singapore’s National Heart Center.
Dr Lim Choon Pin was an assistant adjunct professor at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and the NUS Yong Loo Lin Medical School. In the final-year medical exams for both medical schools in 2017 and 2018, he was also an examiner. As a clinical physician faculty member for SingHealth’s internal residency program, he was interested in postgraduate training and as a clinical core faculty member for SingHealth’s senior residency program in cardiology.
Dr Lim Choon Pin is currently a board member of Singapore’s Heart Failure Society and a fellow of Singapore’s American College of Cardiology, the European Society of Cardiology, and the Academy of Medicine.
