Dr Loh Yee Jim practices at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital as a cardiothoracic surgeon.
In paediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery, adult heart surgery, and endoscopic vein harvesting, his research interests lie.
Dr Loh Yee Jim has been in medical practice for more than 18 years and has been qualified in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery at the Harvard Medical School branch, Boston Children’s Hospital, in the United States.
Dr Loh headed the paediatric cardiothoracic surgery department at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital until 2018, following his return to Singapore.
He is also deeply involved in adult cardiac surgical work, in addition to pediatric heart surgery. He pioneered the use of minimally invasive thoracoscopic video-assisted (VATS) surgery in Singapore to help close atrial septal defects.
Dr Loh Yee Jim is experienced in the country in conducting a range of aortic valve-sparing root replacement processes.
Dr Loh Yee Jim is the program manager and medical director at the Singapore National Cardiovascular Homograft Bank. He is also actively involved in the Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency program at SingHealth.
At KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Dr Loh Yee Jim played an active role in the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) program. He was also the co-director of the Ventricular Assist System and National Paediatric Heart Transplant services.
