Dr Ng Kwan Chung Kenneth, a cardiologist with more than 10 years of experience, is currently practicing at the Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital outside of his clinic. He specializes in patient treatment by way of preventive cardiology. He is also involved in progressive heart failure, which is controlled by artificial heart pumps, surgery for heart failure and heart transplantation.
After graduating from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (MBBS, 1992) at the National University of Singapore, Dr. Ng earned his post-graduate degrees (MRCP UK, 1998 and M Med Singapore, 1998). He then went on to Tan Tock Seng Hospital to complete his Cardiology Advanced Specialty Training. After that, under the Health Manpower Development Program (HMDP) Award, he left for the US. At the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where he worked on echocardiography and heart failure transplantation, he underwent a 15-month fellowship program there. He returned to the same clinic in 2009 for a Heart Failure and Transplantation and Assist System Rehabilitation observational program.
Dr Ng Kwan Chung Kenneth entered Tan Tock Seng Hospital when he returned, where he was instrumental in creating the Program for Heart Failure as well as the Program for Surgical and Mechanical Assistance System Therapy. Prior to his move to private practice, he served from 2003 to 2007 as Director of the Heart Failure Program in the Singapore National Healthcare Group.
Dr Ng Kwan Chung Kenneth, a well-published cardiologist, has several academic papers in international peer-reviewed cardiology journals on heart failure as well as many book chapters to his credit. He is widely regarded as a specialist in the field of heart failure in the ASEAN region and is a regular guest lecturer at both local and international conferences, such as the Asia Pacific Cardiology Congress. At the international level, he has not only given lectures at meetings such as the Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Congress of Cardiology, but also chaired meetings at the International Heart Lung Transplantation Society.
Taking on a teaching position as a Clinical Instructor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of the National University of Singapore also gives Dr Ng Kwan Chung Kenneth the self-fulfillment he seeks. He also appreciates his appointment as the Chief Instructor for the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course and has been invited to teach the courses there in Malaysia and Brunei. He is also a board-certified cardiologist in the United States for Adult Systematic Echocardiography, provided by the National Board of Education.
