Education & Experience:
Dr Fok Chun Kwok Alex is a physician and endocrinologist at the Medical Centre of Mount Elizabeth, Singapore. At the National University of Singapore, he completed his undergraduate medical studies, graduating in 1981 with an MBBS. In 1986, he received a Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine), followed in 1987 by the MRCP (United Kingdom), 1990 by FAMS (Endocrinology) and 1998 by FRCP (Edinburgh).
From 1989 to 1990, under the tutelage of Professors Henry Burger and David de Kretser, he studied in reproductive endocrinology & andrology in Melbourne, Australia at the Prince Henry’s Hospital Medical Research Center and Monash Medical Center’s Reproductive Biology Laboratory. Dr Fok Chun Kwok Alex was promoted to Consultant in 1992 and to Senior Consultant in 1996, returning to clinical practice at the Singapore General Hospital in 1991. He was named Head of Endocrinology at Singapore General Hospital, the largest public hospital in Singapore, in 1995.
In 2000, Dr Fok Chun Kwok Alex resigned as Chief of Endocrinology to start his own practice at the Mount Elizabeth Medical Center. His previous and current appointments include Honorary Consultant to the Society for Healthy Aging, Science and Education (Hong Kong), Member of the Medical Advisory Committee, Association for Healthy Aging, and to the Medical Advisory Board of Mount Elizabeth Hospital on the Standing Committee on Anti-Doping, Singapore National Olympic Committee.
On topics related to diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, weight management, small stature, cholesterol-related problems and hormonal assistance in menopause, andropause and gender reassignment, Dr Fok Chun Kwok Alex continues to lecture and hold seminars locally and regionally.
