The training of Dr Hui Kok Pheng in multi-cultural respiratory disease treatment has contributed to an understanding of the variety of respiratory symptoms across various ethnic groups. His special interests are asthma (ethnic diversity and optimum management based on individuals), lung cancer (emphasis on early detection), tuberculosis (including atypical tuberculosis), extreme sepsis, and critical care for ventilator life support patients. In peer-reviewed journals and international meetings on subjects including asthma, influenza, tuberculosis, sepsis and intensive care, Dr Hui has written over 100 articles and abstracts.
