  • Dr Tan Aik Hau was a consultant in the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine at Singapore General Hospital before starting private practice.
  • Dr Tan Aik Hau has a particular interest in advanced bronchoscopic procedures such as EBUS, pleural disorders, and surgical pleuroscopy in the area of respiratory medicine.
  • In 2013, 2015 and 2017, he was the course director of advanced bronchoscopy courses, which attracted participants from Asia and Australasia. At the 7th Asia Pacific Congress of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology in 2017, he was also invited to speak.
  • Dr Tan Aik Hau has a special interest in ECLS and critical care ultrasound in the area of intensive care medicine.
  • In 2013, he was awarded a Health Manpower Growth Award at the prestigious Alfred Intensive Care Unit in Melbourne to undertake a clinical fellowship.
  • He obtained accreditation from the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine for the management of ECLS patients as well as the Clinician-Performed Ultrasound Certificate.
  • From 2015 to 2018, he was the supervisor of the respiratory therapy department at the Singapore General Hospital and is keenly involved in advancing non-invasive ventilation technology.
  • For Dr Tan Aik Hau, teaching has always been a passion. He has held numerous teaching-related appointments, including Singapore Health Internal Medicine Residency Associate Program Director, Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Adjunct Assistant Professor, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Clinical Senior Lecturer, and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine Clinical Instructor.
  • Furthermore, he gives regular lectures to advanced trainee nurses at Nanyang Polytechnic.
