- Dr Yap Cheng Hoon Jane is a respiratory doctor who has been in private practice at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital since 2001 and is currently teaching. She specializes in the treatment of asthma, tuberculosis, lung cancer, pleural conditions, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic cough, and pneumonia.
- Dr Yap Cheng Hoon Jane graduated with an MBBS (Singapore) from the National University of Singapore in 1982 and with a Master of Medicine in 1987. (Internal Medicine). She was awarded the 1991 Roll of Specialist in Respiratory Medicine, FAMS (Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore) in 1992 and is accredited to specialize in Respiratory Medicine (1998) and Intensive Care Medicine (2012).
- After one year as Singapore’s representative to the World Health Organization (WHO) Tuberculosis Surveillance Team, Dr Yap helped formulate Measures (Singapore Tuberculosis Elimination Programme) in 1997. (1996-2000). Before entering private practice, she was also Acting Head (1996-1997) of the Tuberculosis Department at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Consultant (1993-2001) at the Respiratory Department of the same hospital.
- Dr Yap Cheng Hoon Jane is the lead author of more than 35 articles on lung mechanics, bronchial hyperactivity and tuberculosis studies. These articles have been written and presented at a variety of international conferences in both local and international journals. In addition to that, in Singapore and abroad, she was a clinical mentor and lecturer for medical students, doctors and nurses.
