- Dr Tan Poh Seng is a gastroenterologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
- His clinical experience covers progressive liver disorders, infectious hepatitis, fatty liver, liver cirrhosis, liver cancer and liver transplantation.
- Dr Tan Poh Seng is also experienced in common digestive diseases and endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy, endoscopic variceal ligation and capsule endoscopy.
- Prior to entering private practice, Dr Tan began and led the hepatocellular carcinoma clinic in National University Health System. He was the former director of clinical services and a senior consultant of the division of gastroenterology and hepatology at the National University Hospital (NUH) (NUH).
- Dr Tan Poh Seng was a senior consultant and core transplant hepatologist of the liver transplant programme at NUH’s National University Centre for Organ Transplantation, and the clinical lead for the hepatobiliary tumour community at the National University Cancer Institute. He was also a transplant hepatologist for Mount Elizabeth Hospital’s living donor transplantation programme.
- Dr Tan Poh Seng was an assistant professor at the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and a key faculty member for the gastroenterology and hepatology senior residency programme at NUH. Dr Tan has also worked as the deputy patient safety officer for the university medicine cluster at NUH. He is currently a visiting consultant at NUH where he continues to be interested in postgraduate education and training of future specialists.
- Since 2008, he has done more than 3,000 endoscopies.
- Dr Tan Poh Seng has authored several scientific publications and performed various clinical trials as a principal investigator in the fields of liver transplantation, immunosuppression and hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) (liver cancer). Since 2018, he has been the honorary secretary of the Gastroenterological Society of Singapore.
