Associate Professor Amar U. Kishan is Vice-Chair of Clinical and Translational Research and Chief of the Genitourinary Oncology Service at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Kishan earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Molecular and Cell Biology and Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley. He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, where he completed the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Program with the highest distinction. During medical school, he received a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Fellowship to do laboratory research on tumor metabolism. Upon completion of his internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, he was named the H.H. Jones Intern of the Year. He then finished his radiation oncology fellowship at UCLA.
