- Dr Amitabh Monga is a gastroenterologist based in Singapore’s Gleneagles Hospital.
He is well-versed in both general gastroenterology and hepatology. His subspecialty interest is therapeutic endoscopy, which includes ERCP, oesophageal, duodenal, and colonic stenting, double balloon enteroscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, and video capsule endoscopy.
Dr Monga previously worked at Tan Tock Seng Hospital for 11 years (TTSH). He is currently a visiting consultant at Singapore’s TTSH and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. - Dr Amitabh Monga received his MBBS from the University of Delhi in 1995 and his post-graduate degree in internal medicine from the University of Delhi in 1999. He became a member of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 2005 and completed his gastroenterology specialist training at TTSH. Dr Monga became a gastroenterology specialist in 2009 and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2013.
In 2010, he was awarded a Health Manpower Development Plan scholarship by Singapore’s Ministry of Health and completed a fellowship in advanced therapeutic endoscopy and ERCP at India’s Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG).
He was an invited faculty member at GIHep Singapore from 2013 to 2018, as well as at the 2014 and 2015 Singapore Hands-on Live Endoscopy Course (SHOLEC).
Dr Monga was a 2008 and 2009 recipient of the Yong Loo Lin Medical School Dean’s award for teaching excellence. He was actively involved in teaching medical students and was a key faculty member of the gastroenterology postgraduate residency program.
