- Dr Audra Fong earned her undergraduate degree in 1998 from the National University of Singapore and her specialty degree in 2008 from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh). Dr Fong is a board-certified ophthalmologist with further training in neuroophthalmology. She is particularly interested in illnesses of the brain and nerves that are intimately connected to the visual system. She did a one-year Neuroophthalmology fellowship with Professor Barry Cullen and Dr Sharon Tow and was a research assistant on a National Medical Research Council study examining alterations in the retinal microvasculature in relation to optic nerve illnesses. She frequently collaborates closely with neurologists and neurosurgeons in the management of disorders affecting both the eye and the brain, such as hemifacial spasm, myasthenia gravis, brain and pituitary tumors, and visual pathway strokes.
- Dr Fong is also a board-certified general ophthalmologist who treats a variety of age-related eye diseases, including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and age-related macular degeneration.
