- Dr Chen Yuan Tud Richard is an endocrinologist who practices at Singapore’s Gleneagles Hospital. He is board certified in diabetes, thyroid disorders, male hypogonadism (insufficient testosterone production), and andropause (male menopause).
Dr Chen graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1991 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree. He also became a member of the United Kingdom’s Royal College of Physicians in 1999. Dr Chen then spent a sabbatical year at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia in 2003 to explore his interest in testosterone deficiency in men and andropause. He also became board certified in endocrinology and internal medicine in 2004. In 2009, he was elected a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, and the Singapore Academy of Medicine.
Dr Chen previously served as the head of the Endocrinology Department at Changi General Hospital (CGH) in Singapore from 2008 to 2014. United States of America Since 2005, he has held various executive roles in the Endocrine and Metabolic Society of Singapore (EMSS), including president from 2010 to 2012. Dr Chen was also named associate program director of the Singhealth internal medicine residency program from 2009 to 2013 and was a member of the Singhealth endocrinology residency core faculty from 2012 to 2014. - Apart from clinical practice, Dr Chen spent 2010–2012 as an adjunct assistant professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Since 2007, he has also been active in the organization of the course in advanced endocrinology, a biannual international meeting co-hosted by the EMSS and the Mayo Clinic in the United States of America.
