Dr Chew Kim Huat Richard received his Masters of Medicine (Surgery) in 1979 and a Doctorate of Medicine in 2001. He completed comprehensive studies the same year and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and Glasgow. He has received a Fellowship of the Singapore Academy of Medicine since 1984. Chew lectured at the University of Tokyo Hospital and Japan Cancer Centre in 1981, and was working in Singapore before entering private practice in 1987.
