At Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, Singapore, Dr Chiam Toon Lim Paul is a cardiologist.
He is one of the few transcatheter aortic valve replacement surgeons in Singapore with experience (TAVR).
Dr Chiam Toon Lim Paul specializes in interventional cardiology and has previously spent 18 months at New York’s Lenox Hill Heart and Vascular Institute gaining hands-on expertise in complex coronary angioplasty, stenting of the carotid artery, angioplasty of the peripheral artery, and heart valve structural disease.
Later, in the Department of Endovascular Neurosurgery at the University of Buffalo, he spent 3 months studying in intracranial angioplasty and stenting.
Dr Chiam Toon Lim Paul graduated from the National University of Singapore on the Dean’s list and completed his Master of Medicine postgraduate exam, where he received the G.A. Gold Ransome Award.
He is an associate adjunct professor at Singapore National University.
From 2016-2019, he was the general secretary of the Asian Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology (APSIC) and is the new co-chair of the Scientific Committee of the APSIC. From 2014-2017, he was also a member of the Peripheral Vascular Disease Section Leadership Council of the American College of Cardiology (ACC).
Dr Chiam Toon Lim Paul is well known in the field of interventional cardiology and has been invited to major international cardiovascular conferences such as the American College of Cardiology Scientific Sessions and Scientific Sessions of the American Heart Association as a visiting faculty or speaker.
In Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Taiwan and China, he has also been invited as a case operator to conduct workshops and to perform cases during ‘live transmissions’ in complex coronary procedures, peripheral artery interventions and mitral valvuloplasties.
Dr Chiam Toon Lim Paul has written widely and won the SingHealth Publish! in cardiovascular journals. Award for a paper that was written in a major cardiovascular journal in 2012.
