Education & Experience:
At Gleneagles Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, Singapore, Dr Chin Tan Min is a surgical oncologist.
Lung cancer and general oncology are her fields of expertise.
With a clinical and research fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Centre in the US, she was awarded the Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) fellowship to undertake further subspecialization training in thoracic oncology.
Dr Chin Tan Min was a senior consultant at the National University Cancer Institute at NUH and a visiting consultant at Ng Teng Fong Hospital prior to her private practice.
Dr Chin Tan Min brings her thoracic oncology experience to different Ministry of Health boards, formulating screening and treatment recommendations for lung cancers. She is also a lung cancer advisory member of the Singapore Cancer Society, and has been active in public educational talks. She was also a key professor at the National University Health System for the oncology senior residency program.
She is the principal associate at Singapore’s Cancer Science Institute, where she is continuing her current research.
Dr Chin Tan Min is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the International Association of Lung Cancer, and the American Association for Cancer Research.
As principal and co-investigator, she has undertaken many international industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials with a keen and involved interest in translational and clinical science to improve patient care.
In peer-reviewed, high-impact factor journals such as Nature, Nature Medicine and the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Dr Chin’s work was written. She has contributed to the development of a test/kit for EGFR mutation detection in lung cancers, both in tumors and in blood.
Her contribution to patient care has been recognized by SPRING’s Excellent Service Award.
