- Dr Cosmas Chen has over 15 years of experience practicing general surgery. His primary areas of competence include laparoscopic gallbladder, hernia, and gastro-intestinal surgery. His experience with gastro-intestinal surgery includes surgery for liver, colon, and stomach cancer, among other conditions. Dr Chen is skilled in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures such as banding oesophageal varices, injecting bleeding peptic ulcers, placing PEG (Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) tubes, and removing colonic polyps.
- Dr Chen’s interests include vascular surgery, which encompasses diabetic foot, venous abnormalities such as varicose veins, and limb arterial disease. He performs both minimally invasive procedures (such as angioplasty and stenting of arteries) and lower limb bypass surgery (available for threatened limb loss). Varicose veins can also be treated minimally invasively utilizing an endovenous laser.
