Dr Elizabeth, Ph.D., is the Director of the UCLA Scleroderma Program and the Founder and Co-Director of the UCLA Connective Tissue Disease-Related Interstitial Lung Disease (CTD-ILD) Program. She is a world-renowned specialist in systemic sclerosis and interstitial lung disease associated with connective tissue disorders.
Dr Volkmann, who is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, is a Pomona College alumnus who majored in Neuroscience and minored in Dance. She obtained her medical degree at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, where she also completed her internal medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship. She participated in the Specialty Training and Advanced Research (STAR) Program and obtained her Master of Science in Clinical Research during her fellowship.
Dr Volkmann is passionately concerned about the well-being of her patients and tries to empower them in their recovery path using both conventional and holistic therapeutic methods. She collaborates with other professionals to build complete and individualized treatment programs for each patient.
