At Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore, Dr Guo Wei Qiang Kenneth is a cardiology specialist.
Treating patients with congenital heart disease, pulmonary arterial hypertension, chronic thrombolembolic pulmonary hypertension and right heart failure are his clinical interests.
At the Singapore National Heart Centre, Dr Guo Wei Qiang Kenneth completed his advanced specialist training in cardiology. He received SingHealth’s Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship for more specialization in Canada’s adult congenital heart disease and advanced cardiac imaging. Under the mentorship of Professor Ariane Marelli, Dr Judith Therrien and Dr Luc Jutras at the McGill University Health System in Montreal, Quebec, he completed his fellowship.
He was given a Special Competence Testamur in adult echocardiography and advanced perioperative transesophageal echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography and gained Level 2 certification by the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging.
Dr Guo Wei Qiang Kenneth has both non-invasive and invasive cardiac imaging expertise and is specialized in advanced trans-thoracic and trans-esophageal echocardiography, including congenital echocardiography, strain imaging and 3-dimensional echocardiography, as well as cardiac magnetic resonance imaging for the evaluation of patients with ischaemic heart disease, cardiomyopathy and complex congenital heart disease.
Patients born with congenital heart disease, ranging from basic atrial septal defects to severe severity diseases such as Fallot tetralogy, and complicated disorders such as univentricular heart complex and Eisenmenger syndrome, were treated with right and left heart catheterization, including coronary angiography.
Dr Guo Wei Qiang Kenneth was a consultant cardiologist at the National Heart Centre, Singapore, and a visiting consultant at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital prior to his private practice.
Dr Guo Wei Qiang Kenneth has made valuable contributions to education and training in cardiology.
He has several publications and presentations at local and overseas conferences, and has been an assistant assistant professor at the SingHealth-Duke NUS Academic Medical Centre, a key faculty member of the SingHealth Internal Medicine Residency Program and the SingHealth Senior Cardiology Residency Program, a senior clinical lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS, and a senior clinical lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS.
