Education & Experience:
Dr Han Hong Juan is an ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon in Singapore. His general clinical focus is in the surgical treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. A qualified robotic and laser surgeon, he was also a member of the pioneering team of surgeons that began transoral robotic surgery in Singapore.
Dr Han Hong Juan works closely with respiratory doctors to treat all forms of obstructive sleep apnea, and to treat voice and swallowing problems with speech pathologists. To promote nasal breathing, he also has a particular interest in the treatment of nasal allergies and nasal obstruction.
Dr Han Hong Juan attended the National University of Singapore for her undergraduate degree. He completed advanced training in the field of Otorhinolaryngology and received his Master of Medicine in the field. Dr Han graduated first in his class and was awarded the Gold Medal and Distinction by the Singapore Academy of Medicine.
Dr Han went on to receive the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) award from the Ministry of Health to subspecialize in sleep surgery at Stanford University and laryngology at Pittsburgh Medical Center University (UPMC).
Dr Han was also Chief of Sleep Surgery and Director of the Voice Clinic in the Department of Otolaryngology at the Singapore General Hospital prior to his private practice (SGH). The professor held the positions of Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke University, and Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Singapore (NUS).
Dr Han Hong Juan has practiced in the public sector for 20 years and won the Singapore General Hospital Heart of Gold award in 2016 and the CEO Service award in 2017 for his patient care excellence.
Dr Han continues to give his expertise to Singapore General Hospital and trains young ENT surgeons of the future.
