Education & Experience:
Dr Ho Su Chin graduated with a bachelor’s degree in medicine and a bachelor’s degree in surgery from the National University of Singapore, and then completed her internal medicine training in Singapore. In 1995, she received both her Masters of Medicine in Internal Medicine and her membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom. In Singapore, she continued her advanced speciality training and graduated as a fellow of the Singapore Academy of Medicine (Chapter of Endocrinology). In the sub-specialty of thyroidology, Dr Ho has a deep interest.
At the Free University of Brussels, Belgium, she received her HMDP award for molecular endocrinology training. She was one of the founding representatives of health care and medical science to embark on dual routes. Dr Ho successfully obtained grants from funding bodies such as the National Medical Research Council and the Biomedical Research Council throughout her research career. Her primary concern was on thyroid autoimmunity and she has widely published on this in international peer-reviewed journals. Furthermore, she has also carried out and published clinical trials on weight loss and lipid problems.
Dr Ho Su Chin has considerable clinical expertise in the treatment of all types of thyroid disorders, from autoimmune thyroid disease to pregnancy thyroid dysfunction, nodular thyroid diseases and cancer of the thyroid. She is an active member of The Thyroid Community, a multidisciplinary organization of doctors specializing in the treatment of thyroid cancer patients.
All other types of endocrinology, such as pituitary and adrenal disorders, osteoporosis, calcium disorders, dyslipidemia, obesity, and diabetes mellitus, are also controlled by Dr Ho. Dr Ho Su Chin has helped many patients journey through their illness to recovery with the insight gained from her studies coupled with her rich clinical experience. She is a healthy and active lifestyle advocate and strongly believes in the advantages of physical exercise and prudent eating habits. She regularly educates all her patients and shares lifestyle change tips with them, which she feels is a crucial tool to inspire patients to enhance their overall wellbeing.
