- Dr Hsu Li Fern earned a bachelor’s degree from the National University of Singapore and a postgraduate degree from the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom) in 1997. From 1998 to 2001, he had advanced specialist training in cardiology at Singapore’s National Heart Centre, followed by additional training in the therapy of cardiac arrhythmias at Bordeaux’s Hopital Cardiologique du Haut-Leveque. He earned a Certificate of Specialist Training in Cardiology from the University of Bordeaux during this time. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, the Academy of Medicine of Singapore, and the European Society of Cardiology.
- Dr Hsu Li Fern is a nationally renowned expert in the field of heart rhythm disorders. He has been asked to speak at regional and worldwide scientific events, focusing on subjects relating to cardiac rhythm. Additionally, he has been asked to teach and demonstrate catheter ablation and device implantation techniques at a number of regional hospitals. He has published over 70 papers in prestigious worldwide scientific journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine and Circulation, and has received awards for his research, including the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh’s Myer Sims prize in 2005. His particular areas of expertise are the examination and treatment of atrial fibrillation and flutter, as well as sudden cardiac death.
