- Dr Hwang Siew Yoong Jason is an ENT surgeon.
Dr Hwang Siew Yoong Jason is a Malaysian native who is fluent in English and Malay. At the age of 12, he was given an ASEAN scholarship by the Singapore government and continued his education in Singapore. He was awarded the Tan Hiak Kew scholarship at the National University of Singapore and earned his medical degree in 1996. His subsequent basic and advanced surgical training equipped him with vast experience, as he served at all five of Singapore’s major hospitals.
Dr Hwang Siew Yoong Jason completed sub-specialty rhinology training at McGill University and the University of Montreal in Canada in 2006 on a scholarship from the Singapore Ministry of Health. There, he was qualified in the management of difficult sinus diseases and complex endoscopic sinus surgery by Professor Martin Desrosiers. He then joined Professor Ludger Klimek’s team at the Center for Rhinology and Allergy in Wiesbaden, Germany, in 2007. - Dr Hwang Siew Yoong Jason is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, a Member of the European Rhinologic Society, and a Fellow of the American Rhinologic Society.
Apart from general ENT care for adults and infants, his areas of focus include nasal allergy, immunotherapy, recalcitrant sinusitis, nasal polyps, revision sinus surgery, computer image driven surgery, and endoscopic sinonasal tumor excision.
Dr Hwang is actively involved in clinical and academic activities, has published scientific articles, and has spoken at several international and regional meetings and conferences. Dr Hwang also contributes to the Singapore Medical Journal’s review section.
Additionally, Dr Hwang serves on the Singapore Ministry of Health’s Sinusitis and Allergic Rhinitis Guidelines Committee and is a certified teacher for the American College of Surgeons’ Advanced Trauma Life Support Course.
