In December 1988, a workshop on “Therapeutic Endoscopies” was held at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong. In August 1990, I received ERCP training at Middlesex Hospital in London, under the guidance of Dr. Robert Hartfield. In August 1990, I received training in colonoscopy at St. Marks Hospital in London, under the supervision of Dr. Christopher Williams. In April 1993, I received advanced GI endoscopy training at Duke University in North Carolina, USA, under the supervision of Dr. Peter Cotton.
Assignments Abroad
In November 1994, I worked as an observer with Dr. Mark Lane at Auckland Hospital in New Zealand.
At conferences and CMEs, he gives guest talks on a variety of topics.
With the cooperation of the Government of India, Mr. J. P. Nadda, the Honorable Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, and Unicef, Dr. Barve launched a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about Hepatitis B. As a brand ambassador, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan is engaged with this project. By raising awareness about Hepatitis B vaccine, this campaign will aid in the early detection and prevention of Hepatitis B consequences.
