Experience
- Dr Jeevendra Kanagalingam is an ENT surgeon specializing in head and neck surgery. He received his training in London, United Kingdom, and has over ten years of experience in this field, which he acquired in the United Kingdom, Australia, and most recently in the public sector in Singapore. He is licensed as a physician with the Singapore and UK General Medical Councils and is also registered to practice in Malaysia.
Dr Jeevendra Kanagalingam studied pre-clinical medicine at the University of Cambridge as a Chevening Scholar before completing his medical degree at the University of Oxford. He then completed specialist training at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital, the Royal Marsden Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, and Charing Cross Hospital in London. In 2006, he was awarded the Royal Society of Medicine’s Gold Medal for his performance in the intercollegiate FRCS exams. He then pursued a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery at Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital following completion of his training. He then returned to Singapore and joined Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he served as head and neck cancer service director and chaired the multidisciplinary tumor board from 2009 to 2012.
Additionally, Dr Jeevendra Kanagalingam is skilled in advanced head and neck surgery, including endoscopic and robotic thyroid surgery, as well as transoral robotic and laser microsurgery. He was trained in robotics in Hong Kong and South Korea. Additionally, he is a specialist in voice disorders. In 2011, he was awarded a Health Manpower Development (HMDP) fellowship to study advanced voice surgery at the University of Pittsburgh in the United States of America. - In addition to his practice at Mount Elizabeth Novena, Dr Jeevendra Kanagalingam is a Visiting Consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he assists with cancer and speech services. He is dedicated to undergraduate teaching and resident study. He is an Assistant Professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (Joint NTU-Imperial College, London) and a member of the Otolaryngology National Residency Advisory Committee (RAC). He was named one of the best teachers at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in 2012.
Additionally, Dr Jeeve has authored three book chapters and 28 peer-reviewed scientific papers in his area. He has been a featured speaker at a number of international conferences in Australasia and Southeast Asia. He is an instructor for the American Orthodontic Society’s Craniomaxillofacial (CMF) course and conducts an annual thyroid ultrasound course in Singapore.
Dr Jeeve is an active member of the region’s ENT surgeon fraternity, serving as Secretary of the Chapter of Otolaryngologists at the Singapore College of Surgeons.
