- Dr Joshua Kua Hai Kiat is a Consultant Psychiatrist at RH Counselling Centre. From 1994 to 2001, he received basic and advanced psychiatric training. In 2001, he was certified as a specialist in psychiatry. Between 2002 and 2003, he completed subspecialty training in geriatric psychiatry at St George’s Aged Psychiatry Service in Australia and psycho-oncology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute in Australia. From 2008 to 2012, he served as Chief of the Department of Geriatric Psychiatry at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH). Dr Kua also has a special interest in topics relating to men’s mental health.
- Dr Joshua Kua Hai Kiat is currently a Visiting Consultant with the Agency for Integrated Care’s Division of Caregiving and Community Mental Health (AIC). He served on a number of committees at the ministerial level for the Ministry of Health. He was instrumental in the creation of the Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Prescription of Benzodiazepines (2008) and Dementia (2008). (2011). He was previously a Clinical Lecturer at NUS’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and a Master of Medicine (Psychiatry) Examiner. In 2001, he was awarded the ASEAN Congress of Psychiatry’s research prize. He received the Healthcare Humanity Award in 2012.
