- Dr Theng is the Eagle Eye Centre’s founder, Group Chairman, and Medical Director. He earned his MBBS degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1992. MMED (Ophth), FRCS (Edinburgh), and FRCOhpth are postgraduate qualifications (London).
- As a cornea specialist, Dr Theng is well-known for performing thousands of LASIK and refractive surgery procedures, cornea transplants, and cataract surgery each year. He and EEC were named surgeon and center of excellence for femtosecond LASIK surgery by Ziemer, a German business dealing in femtosecond LASER surgery, in 2012.
- Dr Julian Theng is well-known for his ability in doing multifocal Intra-Ocular Lens (IOL) implant procedures. He was chosen as Singapore’s representative surgeon to conduct the Phase 4 Clinical FDA Approval Trial for the novel Restor +300ADD Multifocal Lens Implant in 2008. He has performed over 1,000 multifocal lens implants in cataract surgery and has also authored a book on Presbyopia. He was also a pioneer of KAMRA inlay procedures in 2013 using the Femtosecond Laser aided pocket technique and was the first surgeon in Asia to do Raindrop inlay surgeries for Presbyopia in 2013.
- Dr Julian Theng traveled the world lecturing and teaching on LASIK, cataract, and presbyopia treatments. He is also a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery Today (CRST) Europe. He represents Alcon, AMO, and Ziemer in Asia as a major opinion leader in the field of cataract and refractive surgery.
