- Dr Khoo Chong Kiat is an obstetrician and gynaecologist practising in Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
- Dr Khoo Chong Kiat has expertise in conducting robot-assisted laparoscopic and mini-laparoscopic procedures using the da Vinci Surgical System.
- Dr Khoo is also a licensed colposcopist with the Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology of Singapore.
- Under the Health Manpower Development Plan, Dr Khoo furthered his studies in Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital Centre, France, where he was specialized in minimally invasive surgery for endometriosis and gynaecologic operative endoscopy.
- Prior to private practice, Dr Khoo spent 20 years of public service with the minimally invasive surgery unit at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and was awarded multiple Gold Service Stars Award for his service.
- He helped set up the KK Endometriosis Centre in 2011, helping him to support patients with endometriosis through laparoscopic surgery, subfertility care and polycystic ovary syndrome treatment.
- After completing the SingHealth Organisational Leadership Programme in the Singapore Management University, Dr Khoo was named as the head of ambulatory services and 24-hour women’s clinic at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital from 2014 to 2017.
- He is currently acting as the vice secretary-general of the Asia-Pacific Association for Gynecologic Endoscopic Surgeons (APAGE) (APAGE).
- Dr Khoo Chong Kiat was awarded the adjunct assistant professorship in NUS’ Yong Loo Lin’s School of Medicine, Duke-NUS Medical School, and NTU’s Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He was also the inaugural core faculty member of the SingHealth Obstetrics and Gynaecology Academic Clinical Programme.
- In 2016, Dr Khoo was awarded a Macy scholarship as a clinician-educator in Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA.
- Dr Khoo has served previously as the treasurer and honorary secretary of the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Singapore, and as the director of the section of gynaecology and endoscopy. He is currently a lifetime member of the Obstetrical & Gynaecological Society of Singapore.
- Dr Khoo has been invited as a teaching faculty and foreign speaker at numerous conferences organized by societies such as APAGE, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology. He focuses on subjects including laparoscopic myomectomy, cystectomy, hysterectomy, contained in-bag fibroid morcellation, and ectopic pregnancy.
