Dr Azari is the Chief of the Reconstructive Transplantation Section in the Department of Surgery and the Medical Co-Director of Operation Mend, a program of the UCLA Health System designed to provide complex reconstructive surgery to wounded service members injured in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Prior to his 2008 return to UCLA, he was the Director of the Hand Surgery Fellowship in the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. Additionally, he was the Chief of Hand Surgery at the UPMC-Mercy Hospital.
