Biodata
- Dr Kwek Tong Kiat graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1988 and continued his education in anesthesiology, earning a Master of Medicine in Anaesthesiology from NUS in 1995. He was awarded the Gold Medal of the Singapore Society of Anaesthesiologists in 1994 and the Tan Seng Huat Gold Medal in 1995 for his results on specialization examinations. From 1998 to 1999, he received subspecialty training in Critical Care Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA.
- Dr Kwek Tong Kiat is currently a Senior Consultant in the Department of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care, and Pain Medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and the Assistant Chairman of the Medical Board (Clinical Development). He is a Senior Consultant to the Ministry of Health in Singapore, where he serves as an adviser to the National Deceased Donor Program. Neuroanaesthesia, neurocritical care, general intensive care, and deceased organ donation are some of his clinical interests.
- Dr Kwek is an Associate Professor and Assistant Dean (Admissions) at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine in Singapore, as well as an Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
He serves as a regular examiner for the local Master of Medicine (Anaesthesiology) Part 1 and Part 2 exams and as an external examiner for the Hong Kong College of Anaesthesiologists’ Primary Examination. He serves as an External Faculty member and examiner for the University of Padjadjaran’s Neuroanaesthesia and Critical Care Program in Bandung, Indonesia.
