Experience
- Dr Lee Chong Hwa James is currently a Visiting Consultant at Changi General Hospital’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgeons and previously served as a Clinical Tutor in Orthopedics at NUS’s Faculty of Medicine. Since 1st July 1992, he has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Head of the Shoulder Service at Toa Payoh Hospital. Since 1989, he has also served as a Visiting Consultant at Changi Hospital and the Singapore Armed Forces. Between 1989 and 1991, he served as Deputy Head, Accident & Emergency Department, Toa Payoh Hospital.
- Dr Lee Chong Hwa James served as Assistant Honorary Secretary General and Honorary Secretary General of the Singapore Orthopaedic Association from 1992 to 1993 and 1993 to 1994. Additionally, he served as Honorary Secretary General and Treasurer of the Singapore Sports Medicine Association from 1993 to 1996. Additionally, he is an honorary member of the National Activities Foundation. In 1994, he completed an AO Fellowship at the Kantonnssanal in St Gallen, Switzerland, where he focused on Spine, Shoulder, and Knee Surgery. His expertise in shoulder surgery, in particular, is widely recognized. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and an Affiliate International Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
- Dr. Lee’s clinical interests include ankle and foot injuries and disorders, hip and knee osteoarthritis, orthopedic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, shoulder and elbow injuries and disorders, spinal diseases, broken cartilage and ligaments.
