Biodata
- Dr Lee Keng Thiam earned a bachelor’s degree in 1997 from The National University of Singapore. In 2001, he earned a Master of Medicine (Orthopaedic Surgery). He completed his Advanced Specialist Training in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2006 and has been registered with the Singapore Medical Council as an Orthopaedic Surgeon since May 2006.
- Dr Lee Keng Thiam completed fellowship training in Sports Surgery and Upper Limb Surgery in 2006/07 at the Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre and Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne, Australia, as a beneficiary of a Ministry of Health Human Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship.
- Dr Lee is currently employed at Tan Tock Seng Hospital as a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Head of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. From December 2009 to October 2015, he served as Head of the Sports Medicine & Surgery Service and as Deputy Head of Department from November 2011 to July 2015. His clinical interests are mostly on the arthroscopic and open treatment of upper and lower limb sports injuries, as well as the management of all shoulder, elbow, and knee disorders.
- Apart from clinical work, he has been actively involved in teaching medical students at the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine since 2005, and at the Nanyang Technological University’s (NTU) Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine since 2015. He joined NUS in 2010 as an Adjunct Assistant Professor and was promoted to Adjunct Associate Professor in 2015. He also assists in teaching and mentoring the future generation of orthopaedic surgeons in Singapore as a Core Faculty Member of the NHG-AHPL Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program since 2011.
- He received the TTSH Top Ten Teacher Award for Academic Year 2010-11, the NUS Orthopaedic Teaching Excellence Award for Academic Years 2012-13, 2013-14, and 2014-15, and the NUS Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award for Academic Year 2014-2015.
