Biodata
- Dr Lee Yeow Hian was awarded a Health Manpower Development Program Residency to pursue a fellowship in Sleep Medicine at Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Woolcock Institute of Medical Research, where he learned under world-renowned Sleep Medicine experts such as Professor Ron Grunstein. He earned a Master of Science in Sleep Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2007, where he worked alongside another luminary in the area, Professor Colin Sullivan, the developer of CPAP (Continuous Airway Pressure) therapy. As a result, he is one of the few Sleep Medicine Specialists registered with the Singapore Medical Council in Singapore.
- Dr Lee Yeow Hian was appointed principal physician-in-charge of the sleep laboratory at Alexandra Hospital and afterwards at Tan Tock Seng Hospital upon his return to Singapore. Prior to establishing his own practice, Dr Lee worked as a Consultant in Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, where he was crucial in developing the hospital’s sleep services. He remains a visiting consultant and is in charge of the sleep services at Tan Tock Seng and Khoo Teck Puat hospitals.
- Dr Lee is certified by the Singapore Ministry of Health as a specialist in intensive care medicine and has been appointed as a trainer in intensive care medicine by the joint committee on specialty training.
- Dr. Lee is recognized for his expertise in Sleep Medicine and has been asked to present at major worldwide and regional scientific conferences, including the 2009 World Congress of Sleep Apnoea in Seoul. He is committed to the teaching and professional development of sleep medicine professionals and has been involved in training sleep physicians and technologists in Singapore and throughout the region.
