At Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore, Dr Leow Khang Leng is a cardiologist.
Dr Leow Khang Leng is a subspecialist in interventional cardiology and has expertise in invasive cardiology procedures such as angioplasty of the balloon catheter, coronary angiography, coronary stenting, treatment of acute heart attack and insertion of the intra-aortic balloon pump.
In 2007, he joined the National Heart Centre Singapore and completed his advanced cardiology specialist training in 2010.
Dr Leow Khang Leng joined Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) in 2011 and won the Health Manpower Growth Plan award at Liverpool Hospital in Sydney, Australia, to subspecialize in interventional cardiology.
He returned to KTPH after completing his training and was part of the team that helped develop the 24-hour primary angioplasty service in Singapore’s northern area.
At KTPH, Dr. Leow held many important leadership positions, including Director of the Coronary Care Unit, Clinical Lead of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, Director of the Cardiovascular Centre, and Chairman of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. He also sits on the Medical Device Committee of the hospital and represents KTPH at meetings of the National Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
In the training of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, nurse clinicians and pharmacists, Dr Leow continues to be actively involved.
Dr Leow Khang Leng was an assistant assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, a clinical teacher at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and a member of the National Healthcare Association Cardiology Residency Programme’s core clinical faculty of cardiology.
In March 2018, he was the clinical supervisor for the first batch of non-medical prescribers initiated by the National Collaborative Prescribing Program.
Dr Leow Khang Leng is also a member of the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Procedures and the European Society of Cardiology’s Heart Failure Association.
