Education & Experience:
Dr Lim I Linn Zena is a Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Awardee Consultant Ophthalmologist and Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Sudha Singh is the Medical Director and Co-director of Focal Eye Centre and The Children’s Eye & ENT Centre. Dr Lim is proficient in all facets of general ophthalmology, including laser treatments, customized cataract surgery, glaucoma, and diabetic and degenerative eye diseases. Dr Lim has particular interests in squint surgery and opthalmic care of infants.
Dr Lim I Linn Zena is a physician with the National University of Singapore who studied ophthalmology for a while at the Singapore National Eye Centre. She graduated among the top one third of her class, winning the “Gold Medal in Ophthalmology” award. With that, I was subsequently awarded Fellowship status by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Julia worked under Prof Levin at the Hospital for Sick Children, Ontario, Canada in 2004-2005. Upon completing fellowship training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, she was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan Scholarship by the Ministry of Health to pursue her clinical training at the Duke University Eye Centre, USA under the mentorship of Professors Edward Buckley and Sharon Freedman. There, she worked alongside Professors Edward Buckley and Sharon Freedman, world experts in Ophthalmology in the fields of complex strabismus, paediatric cataract, and paediatric glaucoma.
Dr Lim I Linn Zena has presented at several international, regional, and local conferences and is an author of medical journals. In 2010, she won best of the anterior section of the specialty meetings for work on paediatric cataract.
During this meeting, Dr Zena Lim expresses her passion for clinical practice and her belief in the value of educating the next generation of ophthalmologists.
As a Core Faculty member of the Ophthalmology residency program at the Singapore National Eye Center she was active in curriculum preparation, residency teaching and cataract surgery training. She has previously worked as a Clinical Research Associate with the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School as well as a Clinical Teacher with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore. Previously a Senior Consultant with the “Cataract & Comprehensive” and “Paediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus” Facilities at the Singapore National Eye Centre, she is currently a Visiting Consultant with the Singapore National Eye Centre, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital where she is imparting clinical and surgical skills to young aspiring ophthalmologists.
